Austin Work Yard – Phase 1

The Austin Works Yard, situated at 500 Mariner Way in Coquitlam, serves as the city’s primary public works operations center. To address capacity challenges and aging infrastructure, Phase One of the Austin Works Yard Renewal Project includes the construction of a new 3,440 m² (37,030 sq. ft.) Fleet Maintenance and Workshop Building. This phase also involves expanding the western section of the yard and bulk storage areas to the north and west, converting existing Water Sewer Utility Building workspaces into administrative offices, and upgrading the Bray Street and Austin Avenue intersection. Additionally, plans encompass the abatement and demolition of the outdated Fleet Maintenance and Auxiliary Buildings. Notably, the project will realign public trails within the yard’s vicinity to better connect with Mundy Park. Throughout construction, the Works Yard remains operational, ensuring uninterrupted public works services.
